Easy First Christmas At-Home Photoshoot

I absolutely love taking pictures to document everything - especially when it comes to my (almost) 4 month old. This year is going to be her very first Christmas so OF COURSE I have to document it the best way possible.

After I put up our Christmas decorations for the holiday season I got a few things ready for a super easy, at home, Christmas photoshoot with our little one.

I do have a camera, but because she gets tired of photos so quickly and is very squirmy, I just went ahead and used my iPhone for these.

For the first few poses, I used a white blanket to cover up a couch pillow and I used that to prop her up on her belly near the tree. As far as her outfit for these… just a pair of red bloomers and a red headband so we could see all those naked baby rolls!!

For the second pose, I kept her in the red bloomers and just switched out her bow to a smaller, cute Christmas bow headband.

Then I sat her in a present!

To make the" “present,” I just took an old box - the box from my last Stitch Fix - and wrapped it up like a present with some cute wrapping paper I had.

When doing this - make sure the wrapping paper is on the inside of the box as well! You will see that in the photos so you don’t want to see half wrapping paper/half brown box on the inside.

The last pose, I didn’t end up loving quite as much, but only because she was very done by then. Plus she can’t quite sit up on her own, so it was a lot harder to get a shot in her dress.

But, for her last pose, I put on a Christmas dress that we found at Wild Child Resale in Liberty, Missouri (so cute).

I started with attempting to prop her up on the boppy pillow, with a white blanket covering it, but I didn’t love how it was looking. (I still included one below because her smile is cute in it, so of course I had to).

After that, I covered our living room chair with a cream colored blanket so that I could try and have her sit up in the chair. The pose itself worked a little bit better, however, she was very done with the photoshoot by then so they weren’t my favorite from the shoot.

But… they were still cute!

This was definitely a very easy Christmas shoot that ended up turning out adorable.

However, after doing it, I already can’t wait to bug her with a new holiday shoot after learning what worked well, what didn’t work so well and one when she can actually sit up better!

Feel free to comment below if you have any other easy, fun suggestions for a Christmas or holiday photoshoot!

Happy Holidays! :)
