Give the Gift of an Experience: 5 Experience Kansas City Ideas
I have always thought the idea of giving experiences as a gift instead of a bunch of toys or clothes kids will outgrow is a great idea.
Of course, toys and clothes are still cute and usually needed, but adding an experience or two shakes things up a bit and gives them something that they will remember. At least, remember more than the toy they got on their fifth Christmas and played with for a month until they got something new!
Now that I have a four-year-old niece and a daughter of my own, I’ve really started thinking even more about how I can give an “experience” gift to them for the holidays this season.
The Kansas City area is full of places and experiences suited for this type of idea, so I came up with just a few ideas in the area!
1. Wonderscope
The Regnier Family Wonderscope Children's Museum is located in Kansas City, Missouri.
This children’s museum is great for all ages! It has multiple things to do including art stations, a water station, a climbing station, a grocery store play area and SO much more.
While most of the museum is indoors, they also have an area outside as well that includes a sand area to play in. Inside the museum, there is also an area specifically for children ages 3 and under and they host different types of programs throughout the week.
If you want to give the gift of experiencing Wonderscope this holiday season, you can purchase admission for a day or they have membership options as well!

2. T-Mobile Center Events
T-Mobile Center, previously known as Sprint Center, is located in Downtown Kansas City next to the Power and Light District.
A few kid-friendly events that would make great gifts coming up at the beginning of 2022 are:
January - Monster Jam
February - Harlem Globetrotters
March - Disney On Ice
The nice thing about T-Mobile Center is they have a lot of upcoming events from concerts, to sporting events, to a few random kid-friendly events that could work for you and whoever you plan on gifting an experience to.

3. Lego Land & Sea Life Aquarium
Lego Land & Sea Life Aquarium are both located at Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
While these two are located right next to each other, this is a fun option because you can give tickets to just Lego Land, just Sea Life Aquarium or you can purchase a combination ticket as well and experience both.
These have options to purchase admission for a day or to purchase a membership if that works best for you and your family!

4. Ice Skating
Ice Skating is always a fun activity to plan for the winter months, so why not plan a day or buy tickets for a Christmas gift!?
There are multiple locations in the Kansas City are where you are able to ice skate. So, depending on your location or preference, a few of ice skating locations in the area include:
Kansas City Ice Center & Pavilion - Shawnee, KS
Crown Center Ice Terrace - Kansas City, MO
The Ice at Park Place - Leawood, KS
The Rink at Zona Rosa - Kansas City, MO

5. Science City
Science City is located inside of Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri.
If you have not been to Science City yet, here is a great reason to go ahead and get your butt there!
Science City is full of entertaining, attention-grabbing, interactive activities that are fun for the whole family.
Heck, my husband and I went there by ourselves a couple years ago for a date. No kids even needed! However, I definitely think it’s more enjoyable if you take your little ones there and watch them experience everything there.

These are just a few of the multiple experiences in the Kansas City area that would be great to include in your holiday gift line-up for the little ones in your life this year.
