Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort Breakdown:

My first "official" Margaritaville review is going down in the books!

I am a HUGE fan of Margaritaville - whether it's a resort, a casino or just one of the restaurants - I absolutely love visiting them anywhere at any time. I love the island and getaway vibe that Margaritaville gives you which is why I was extremely excited to visit Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort on the Hollywood Boardwalk!

My husband and I were supposed to visit in June 2020 for our honeymoon, followed by Disney World, but with COVID-19 restrictions we ended up having to postpone our trip to November. Either way, the resort had so much to offer and was an extremely fun place to stay.

Restaurants and Bars

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort on the Hollywood Boardwalk has a crazy amount of options when it comes to restaurants and bars. Some of them were closed with COVID restrictions when we visited, but I still want to mention all of them that were included.

JWB Prime Steak and Seafood

Located inside the resort lobby, this restaurant was open when we visited. However, we did not actually eat there ourselves.

JWB, which is named after Jimmy Buffett (James William Buffett), is a newer, up-scale restaurant serving seafood and steak. They also have a gorgeous bar where they host Wine Vault Nights on Thursdays and Sundays.

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville

Margaritaville is located right outside of the resort lobby, connected to the building, and has a patio that overlooks one of the three pools included at the resort.

They had actually just opened the Margaritaville restaurant back up in the midst of COVID-19 so, of course, this is where we ate our first night! We grabbed drinks there on the evening of our second day, as well.

If you've ever been to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Restaurant, then you know what to expect from this one. A wide variety of food and drink, bar and grill style. My husband and I shared the volcano nachos and they were so huge, and delicious, we couldn't even finish them off between the two of us!

Both nights we sat at the bar and the staff was extremely friendly and fun.  They were striking up conversations with us and giving us new drink suggestions.

Landshark Bar and Grill

Landshark Bar and Grill is connected to the other pool right outside of the resort. They have a bar downstairs at the pool and the restaurant area is above that bar.

The first day we were there we ordered drinks at Landshark while we were down at the pool. It started sprinkling a little bit for about 30 minutes, so we actually sat at the bar and talked to the bartender for a little while. He was very friendly and very informative on things to do and where to eat on our visit there.

Later that evening we ended up going back, upstairs overlooking the pool this time, and we just hung out and ordered a drink to end the night.

The second day we ordered some appetizers and drinks from Landshark while we hung out at the pool during lunch time. I ordered pretzel sticks, of course, and they were delicious!

License to Chill Bar

License to Chill Bar is located on the 11th floor along with the rooftop, 21+ pool.

When my husband and I went to the 21+ pool, we were the only two there for a while. Granted, it was kind of a windy day so it was feeling pretty windy up on the rooftop pool!

However, the bartender working on the License to Chill Bar was extremely friendly and welcoming. We ordered a bucket of beers and talked with him a little bit about our plans for the rest of the trip. He was super helpful with some tips and ideas of what we should do and include.

5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill

Sadly, 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill was still closed when we visited Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort. This is one I was definitely looking forward to and want to go back and immediately visit.

At 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill they have a live music schedule, waterfront beach and a fire pit outside to enjoy. Along with these cozy features, they also offer water taxi rides and the opportunity to rent paddle boards or kayaks.

I will definitely be going back one day, for many reasons, but being able to enjoy 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill will be a top reason on that list!

Lone Palm Beach Bar

This cute little tiki bar, Lone Palm Beach Bar, overlooks the Hollywood Boardwalk and the beach outside of the resort.

Currently, the bar includes the Landshark Bar & Grill food and drink menu. Here you can walk right up from your beach chair and order yourself a refreshing cocktail to sip on in the sand!

Floridays: Tacos and 'Ritas

Floridays is temporarily closed for health reasons (COVID-19).

That being said, Floridays is a cute little food truck that sits on the Hollywood Boardwalk by the beach serving tacos, bowls and, of course, cold drinks! This would be a super convenient spot to grab a bite to eat or a drink during your day spent on the beach.

Margaritaville Coffee Shop

Down by the Margaritaville Gift Shop in the lobby they have their Margaritaville Coffee Shop.

Similar to any coffee shop you've probably been in, they serve a variety of coffee - hot and cold - as well as, sandwiches, pastries and more. It's a perfect stop for a quick breakfast or a grab-and-go snack!

Pools, Beach and Other Activities

There is so much to do when you're at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort on the Hollywood Boardwalk. They have multiple pools, the beach right out front and they even have a FlowRider where you can simulate surfing!

Pools

The resort includes three different pools for their guests to enjoy. Two are right outside the lobby facing the beach and one is an adult-only rooftop pool up on the 11th floor.

If you walk out of the lobby, there is a pool to your left and a pool to your right. If you go to your right, the pool is outside of the Margaritaville Restaurant including a small bar and a hot tub to enjoy.

Go to your left and you will find a very kid-friendly pool with a waterslide in the center. This is the pool that is also alongside Landshark Bar and Grill and includes their bar for you to order food and drinks from while you enjoy your pool day.

The 11th floor rooftop pool is an adult-only pool. This pool is a pretty basic pool, but it has a gorgeous view of the beach, the Hollywood Boardwalk and the other two pools below. Included with the gorgeous view on the rooftop is the License to Chill Bar where you can grab some fruity cocktails or a bucket of beer to enjoy while lounging your day away.

Beach

Right outside of Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort and across the Hollywood Boardwalk is the beach. There is an area where the resort rents out chairs and umbrellas which are included in the room price.

With the room we stayed in, it included two beach chairs and an umbrella for us to rent out and relax on the beach. Our second day there we spend some time laying out in our chairs and enjoying our bucket of beer that we snagged at the License to Chill Bar.

Other Activities: St. Somewhere Spa

Our resort had a few other activities to enjoy along with the pools and beach front area.

One activity inside of the resort is the St. Somewhere Spa. We did not actually use the spa, but if we had stayed there another day or two - I probably would have!

Other Activities: FlowRider

Another super fun activity located outside of the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort and on the Hollywood Boardwalk is the FlowRider. My husband and I decided to take advantage of this incredibly fun surf simulator, even though I was extremely nervous about it, but I'm so glad that we did!

For the most part, I did better than I honestly thought I would! I still fell quite a bit, but the instructor that was working was extremely helpful and really eased you in.

The first time through, he talked us through how to lower the board into the wave and held onto us while we eased into the wave. After that, he still eased us in with a rope, him holding onto one end and extending it out as we held onto the other. If we felt ready, we were able to drop the rope and try surfing on our own, but after I did that once I didn't do it again! (Excuse the quality of this picture, we mostly took videos. So this is a shot from one of our videos!)

I would definitely recommend giving this a try, especially if you've never done it before. It was a really challenging, but exciting new experience for both of us! Another great thing about this is that you do not have to be staying at the resort to take advantage of the FlowRider.

(Find more information on the FlowRider Here)

Other Activities: Water Sports

As mentioned above under the 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill section, they also provide rental opportunities for paddle boards and kayaks there.

We weren't able to rent either with the 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill being closed at the time because of COVID-19, but I will definitely look forward to doing this on our next visit!

Guest Rooms

Lastly, I wanted to mention some of the guest room options Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort offers.

Sunset Intracoastal King/Queen

Sunset Intracoastal King was the room that my husband and I stayed in. When we arrived, we were given Margaritaville goody bags that included Margaritaville masks for the both of us, two water bottles and some hand wipes (I actually believe it included one other thing that I can just not remember to save my life!)

Our room had extreme beach vibes, was very nice and clean, and included a balcony overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. Hence the Sunset Intracoastal title of the room!

Partial Ocean View King/Queen

These rooms are very similar to the one we stayed in. The main difference here is that you're going to have partial views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.

Deluxe Partial Ocean View King/Queen

With the Deluxe Partial Ocean rooms, you get a little more space in your room and your private balcony includes views of Atlantic Ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway.

Paradise Ocean Front King/Queen

Paradise Ocean Front speaks for itself! These rooms include a private balcony that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.

Overall, I would highly recommend visiting Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort on the Hollywood Boardwalk. Especially considering the fact that we plan on going back ourselves!

We absolutely love Margaritaville in general and even though this was our first resort stay, we will definitely be visiting more in the near future!!
